Regarding the information from Russia, Ukraine has not responded.
On February 24, Russia began a special military operation to “demilitarise and de-fascist Ukraine.” Recent counteroffensive operations by the Ukrainian army were undertaken in the northeastern province of Kharkov and the southern province of Kherson.
According to Ukrainian officials, the counteroffensive in the south was heavily advertised to divert attention away from Russia’s offensive in the province of Kharkov. More than a third of the region in Kharkov province is rumoured to have returned to Ukraine’s control.
On September 10, Ukrainian military sites on both the Russian and Ukrainian sides of the border released a number of pictures showing the Ukrainian army raising the flag in front of the town hall in the important northeastern Ukrainian city of Kupyansk.
Russian forces lost a key logistical hub in northeastern Ukraine when they were driven from Kupyansk. Balakliya, another important city in the area, was retaken by the Ukrainian army, Kharkov Governor Oleh Synyehubov earlier announced.
