The Russian Defense Ministry has released a video of suicide drone attacks on Ukrainian tanks, armored vehicles, and targets.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported that the attacks were carried out in the Mykolaiv-Krivoy axis, where fighting between Russian and Ukrainian forces is taking place in the Russian-controlled area of Kherson.
The video was released by the Russian military yesterday (October 13), which combines footage taken by suicide drones and surveillance drones that capture the entire air raid. The video shows a frontal attack against a Ukrainian tank, self-propelled artillery, a US-made HMMWW armored vehicle, and a civilian vehicle being used by a group of soldiers.
“After the drone strike, a number of tanks, self-propelled artillery, and vehicles, including those supplied by NATO to Ukraine, were destroyed,” the Russian Defense Ministry said.
Although the military did not provide details about the weapon used in the strike, the images in the video show that it is an upgraded version of the Lancet suicide drone. This is a drone developed by Zala Aero, a subsidiary of the Kalashnikov Group, it can carry a 5kg warhead and stay in the air for more than an hour. Unlike the previous Lancet, this upgraded model has a larger front wing and a smaller tail, while the previous model has a symmetrical X-shaped wing.
