The Royal Air Force (RAF) has released details of a large-scale live-fire exercise with unprecedented numbers of Advanced Short Range Air-to-Air Missiles (ASRAAMs). ), launched against drone targets. In total, 53 missiles were fired by Typhoon and F-35B fighters of the RAF over a period of 10 days. Each of those rockets is said to cost around £200,000 (about $225,500). Colonel Phil Marr, commander of the British F-35 force, said that all the missiles fired were in consignments that were about to expire.
