The Russian army has dug trenches and erected many barricades in the Belgorod region bordering Ukraine.
In a notice posted on his personal Telegram page on December 14, Vyacheslav Gladkov, the Governor of Russia’s Belgorod region, revealed the first images of the defenses built along the Ukrainian border in this region. According to Gladkov, the purpose of this line of defense is to prevent the conflict in Ukraine from being able to cross the other side of the border

Consisting of many trenches, battle emplacements, barbed wire fences and anti-tank barricades, this line is considered effective in stopping enemy tanks, armored vehicles, and infantry.

Construction has been going on for several months now. On November 22, Governor Gladkov confirmed the existence of this line and affirmed that it will be Russia’s first line of defense once the conflict extends beyond Ukraine.

Anti-tank barricades have been built on a dense scale in many Russian-controlled areas in Ukraine in recent times to prevent the counterattack of the Ukrainian army.

Russian officials check the progress of the construction of a border defense line in the Belgorod region. “Along with Deputy Governor Vladimir Bazarov and representatives of the Russian Ministry of Defense, we have checked the progress of the construction of the border defense line,” Governor Gladkov wrote on his personal Telegram page

The consolidation and expansion of this border defense line will continue in the near future.
