Pro-Russian officials in eastern Ukraine said that the Ukrainian army has sent special forces to the city of Bakhmut in Donetsk.
In an interview with Tass news agency on December 22, Andrey Marochko, an officer of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) militia revealed that the Ukrainian army has mobilized many special forces. to the Bakhmut “pan of fire” in Donetsk.
According to intelligence sources of the separatist LPR militia, several units of the Ukrainian Special Operations Command were seen in the areas around the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region.
“The task of these troops is to counter our assault groups, establish a mobile defense system, thereby relieve the siege of Bakhmut and stabilize the situation of the Ukrainian army in the region,” he said. Marochko said.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has not yet commented on this information.
Earlier, on December 21, Mr. Marochko confirmed that the Ukrainian defense forces in Bakhmut are urgently staging arrays to prepare for fierce street battles in the near future.
Forts, defensive posts and trenches were dug along the main streets of Bakhmut. Many fire points and arsenals have also been set up to be ready for close combat with the Russian assault force.
