According to Military Cognizance, citing a notice from the Northern Fleet, the Admiral Gorshkov destroyer equipped with Tsirkon hypersonic missiles performed the mission of repelling a simulated air attack during the manoeuvres in the Norwegian Sea.

According to a Northern Fleet press statement, the crew of the Admiral Gorshkov frigate practised intercepting air attack weaponry, planes, and anti-ship missiles from imaginary attackers. The exercise was held amid inclement weather. The Admiral Gorshkov frigate successfully executed manoeuvres based on computer simulations of combat circumstances, killing all targets with the variety of weaponry on board.
On January 4, Russian President Vladimir Putin directed the crew of the Admiral Gorshkov ship to commence combat patrol missions. The Admiral Gorshkov is part of an initiative to construct a multi-purpose frigate that will operate in far-off waters. The ship entered Russian Navy service in July 2018. The Admiral Gorshkov ship is equipped with the Kalibr-NK missile system as its primary strike armament. The warship has also participated in the testing of Russia’s sophisticated Tsirkon hypersonic missile.
