Russia accuses Ukraine of using suicide drones to attack rookie training bases

Russian media accused the Ukrainian military of using a suicide drone to attack a training base of the country’s new recruits.

Russian media on January 18, said that a training base of Russian recruits was attacked by suicide drones (UAVs) of the Ukrainian army.

The exact time and location of this attack have not yet been announced. However, some sources say the base is located about 100km from the front line.

The Russian air defense forces claimed that at least seven Ukrainian UAVs were shot down. Some other UAVs hit the target but did not cause serious consequences.

Recently, attacks using suicide drones have been continuously carried out by the Ukrainian military against Russian military targets .

In a statement on his personal Telegram page on January 16, the mayor of the pro-Russian government in the city of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev, announced that the Russian air defense forces in the Crimean peninsula had stopped a Ukrainian drone attack on Moscow’s infrastructure on the peninsula.

“The air defense forces and units of the Black Sea Fleet shot down seven unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the airspace of the Crimean peninsula. All enemy UAVs were shot down at sea because so our military targets on land are not affected,” Razvozhaev said.

Earlier, at the beginning of December 2022, many Ukrainian UAVs carrying 2kg warheads were shot down while on their way to a base of the Russian Air Force.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has not yet commented on the above information.
