A video released by Russia shows a Ukrainian infantry fighting vehicle exploding after hitting a mine in Donbas.
Video taken by a Russian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) over the Donbas region in eastern Ukraine shows a Ukrainian infantry fighting vehicle being destroyed after being hit by an anti-tank mine. The Russian side said the mine was laid by the Ukrainian army.
According to images from the video, a person ran out of the vehicle after the explosion. This is believed to be the driver of a Ukrainian infantry fighting vehicle.
Ukraine has repeatedly said that its military needs 600-700 infantry fighting vehicles and 300 tanks from the West to help penetrate Russia’s defenses.
Germany and the US recently agreed to transfer infantry fighting vehicles and France pledged to provide light-wheeled tanks to Ukraine. This is considered a significant turning point in the policy of Western countries to help Ukraine cope with the Russian military campaign.
