Russia heavily shelled on many fronts, causing great casualties in Ukraine

Ukrainian authorities have accused the Russian military of conducting a series of intense raids, causing heavy damage to civilian infrastructure in the country.

On January 29, the military administration of the Kherson region of Ukraine accused the Russian army of “heavy shelling” of many targets in this area. The attack left many civilians dead and injured.

Accordingly, at about 2 pm local time, at least 7 shelling took place on a hospital, school, bus station, post office, bank, and many houses in Kherson city. Preliminary statistics show that at least three people were killed and six others injured in the attack. Among the victims of the shelling was a nurse from a local hospital.

An inland waterway port at Kherson was also hit by Russian artillery on January 29. Two cargo ships owned by foreign companies were damaged, causing oil to spill into the Dnieper River.

“Russian troops attacked a port at Kherson. Two cargo ships of foreign companies were damaged by enemy shells. One shell hit a ship’s fuel depot, causing oil to leak. spilled into the Dnieper River,” the Kherson regional military government announced.

On the same day, Oleh Syniehubov, head of the military administration of Ukraine’s Kharkiv region, accused Russia of carrying out a missile attack on an apartment building in the city of Kharkiv.

 “People of the city of Kharkiv and the entire Kharkiv region, the enemy is organizing a new ambush. Stay in your shelters,” Syniehubov wrote on his personal Telegram page as the sirens went off the whole Kharkiv region.

According to reports by local emergency services, Russia used a converted S-300 air defense missile for the attack. Detailed statistics on damage and casualties are being urgently clarified.

Also on January 29, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed that the Russian military carried out 24 rocket-propelled artillery attacks against many settlements in the frontline areas of Ukraine. In these areas, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Novopavlivka are still the fronts that have received the most intense fire from the Russian army.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine revealed that the above attacks have left serious consequences for people and property, and warned people about the risk of missile and artillery attacks during the period of time.
