India’s Game-Changing BrahMos Cruise Missile Up for Sale to Russia

Atul Dinkar Rane, the CEO of BrahMos Aerospace, has announced the company’s intention to offer its BrahMos cruise missiles for sale to Russia.

In a recent interview, the CEO of BrahMos Aerospace expressed ongoing interest in the Russian market for their BrahMos missiles.

“Our focus has consistently been on exploring Russia as a potential market for the BrahMos missiles. If they had acquired the missiles earlier, they would have had a valuable asset at their disposal in the current situation,” Rane stated in an interview with the newspaper.

The CEO of the company expressed that once the current situation in Europe comes to an end, the company may receive orders from Russia, particularly for their air-launched cruise missile.

Brahmos

BrahMos Aerospace, a collaborative venture between India and Russia, has successfully developed a supersonic cruise missile renowned as the world’s fastest. This missile, named BrahMos, utilizes ramjet propulsion and is deployed by India in various forms, including air, ground, and ship-launched variants.

According to the Arms Control Association based in the United States, the missile possesses a range of approximately 300 km (186 miles) to 500 km (310 miles). This capability enables it to reach targets such as Islamabad when launched from a northern Indian location.

Furthermore, in March 2022, a senior Pakistani security official informed Reuters that there is a potential nuclear-armed version of the missile. However, there is currently no evidence to suggest that this particular variant is in active service.
