Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz announced that Warsaw has exhausted its stock of weapons and military equipment for transfer to Ukraine.
Poland has reached its limit in providing military aid to Ukraine, with Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz stating that the country’s priority is its own security. Warsaw has already transferred as much equipment as possible, according to Kosiniak-Kamysz, who emphasized that the transfer of weapons has always been constrained by Poland’s defense needs.Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has expressed disappointment over Poland’s refusal to supply MiG-29 fighter jets.
He previously discussed the possibility of a NATO mission to support Poland’s Air Force with former NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. Kosiniak-Kamysz explained that Poland could only send additional MiG-29 jets once it has replaced them with new aircraft, like the F-35s ordered from the US, which won’t arrive before 2026.Poland claims to have provided more military aid to Ukraine relative to its GDP than any other nation.
However, Russia has strongly criticized these actions, warning that supplying weapons to Ukraine would only escalate the conflict. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that such shipments would make the weapons a legitimate target for Moscow, adding that NATO’s involvement in training Ukrainian forces further solidifies its role in the war.
