Russia blocks “throat” in Kursk, Ukrainian army in danger

Ukraine’s difficult situation is getting more and more serious as Russia tries to control logistics routes. However, Kiev has not taken enough measures to counter this threat.

The DeepState channel , which is affiliated with the Main Directorate of Defense Intelligence of Ukraine (GUR), admitted that Russian troops in the Kursk region are controlling firepower on the vital logistics line, putting Kiev forces in danger.

“The biggest problem in the Kurshchina area is that the entire logistics of the defense forces is controlled by the enemy by fire. Starting in January, the Russian military has increased its ability to control our movements, and for some reason, we have not made the right decisions to eliminate this problem,” DeepState said.

“In February, the difficult situation began to reach its peak and the biggest complications began after the loss of Sverdlikovo, which the Ukrainian army tried to recover but failed,” the report said.

According to DeepState, the Russian army broke through to the settlement of Novenkoye, built up forces, and continued to advance.

In particular, according to the Military Summary channel, the Russian army’s attacks in Kursk have not decreased but have even crossed the border. After defeating Novenke, they captured Zhuravka, another village also on Ukrainian territory. However, these territorial victories are still unconfirmed.

“Although it is difficult to gain a foothold in this area due to the terrain and lack of infrastructure, Moscow forces are actively trying to gain a foothold there. They have the resources to do so,” analysts said.

“Another unpleasant problem is the development of Russian troops along the border between the settlements of Zhuravka and Novenkoe. It is from this area that the logistics (of Kiev forces) suffer the greatest losses, stretching from Yunakovka to Sudzha, and the situation in that area has long begun to deteriorate,” the report said.

DeepState noted that the situation required immediate intervention, as the Russian military had destroyed “more than 10 vehicles.”

Moscow forces continue to concentrate in the Sverdlikovo area, applying pressure and “the worst-case scenario would be for the enemy to move straight to the outskirts of Sudzha, although they actually have a fire control system there”.

In a report as of 10:00 p.m. on March 1, the Ukrainian General Staff confirmed that Kiev forces had repelled 16 enemy attacks in the direction of Kursk. At the same time, Moscow conducted 22 air strikes, dropped a total of 30 guided bombs and carried out 383 artillery strikes, including four attacks from multiple-launch rocket artillery systems.

Earlier, on February 20, DeepState reported that the Russian military was actively searching for and destroying the logistics of Ukrainian forces from the Sumy region to the Kursk region. They were conducting fire attacks “on everything that moves in the Sumy region”.
