The Russian army announced that it had captured two more areas of Ukraine and gained an advantage on the front line.
The Russian Defense Ministry said on July 21 that its army had gained more territory on the Lugansk front and Peschanoye Nizhnee in Kharkov in the past 24 hours.
“Units of the Western battle group captured the settlements of Rozovka in Lugansk and Peschanoye Nizhnee in Kharkov, and took control of more lines and advantageous positions,” the statement said.
In addition, a deputy commander of the 5th Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Southern Combat Group told Tass that Russia was about to take control of the town of Krasnogorovka in Donetsk successfully.
“The operation is almost complete. The area is almost completely controlled, except for a few streets and some houses,” he said.
Meanwhile, Russia said that units of the Eastern battle group improved their tactical positions during the day and pushed back five Ukrainian brigades, including the 72nd Motorized Infantry Brigade, the 58th Motorized Infantry Brigade, the 120th Territorial Defense Brigade, and the 17th and 21st Brigades of the National Guard.
Moscow said Russia’s northern battle group had inflicted casualties and weapons on Ukraine, causing the opponents to lose 145 soldiers.
Additionally, Russia claimed that in the past 24 hours, it had destroyed a HIMARS rocket launcher, along with a warehouse containing 400 tons of Ukrainian weapons, but did not specify the location of the attack.
At the same time, Russia said that its Central battle group repelled seven Ukrainian counterattacks, causing Kiev to lose 330 servicemen.
The Russian Defense Ministry announced that in the area of operation of the Eastern battle group, Ukraine lost “115 servicemen, 3 vehicles, 155mm and 122mm guns”.
Russia said that Ukrainian losses in the area of operation of the southern battle group were 510 soldiers, 2 ammunition depots, and several artillery pieces.
Russia also claimed to have shot down Ukraine’s Mi-8 helicopter, 2 Hammer bombs, and 40 UAVs in the past 24 hours.
In addition, Russia said that its Iskander-M missile units carried out an attack on two military units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Donetsk, causing Ukraine to lose 240 servicemen and more than 60 pieces of equipment, including 14 US-made MaxxPro armored vehicles, 10 Canadian-made Senator armored fighting vehicles, 7 armored personnel carriers, 2 combat reconnaissance vehicles, 5 armored rescue vehicles, and more than 20 trucks.
According to Russian statistics, since the beginning of Moscow’s special military campaign, Ukraine has lost 630 planes, 278 helicopters, 27,955 drones, 554 air defense missile systems, 16,624 tanks, and other armored fighting vehicles, 1,381 combat vehicles carrying multiple rocket launchers, 12,184 field artillery and mortars, and 23,910 special military vehicles.
