Ukrainian soldier distracts by throwing a brick and closing the distance before rushing into a duel. The skills in freestyle wrestling helped the Russian soldier neutralize his opponent.

The ZvezdaNews TV channel of the Russian Ministry of Defense recently published a report about a breathtaking hand-to-hand combat between a Russian soldier and his Ukrainian opponent.
Accordingly, the crew of a T-80BVM tank of the 5th Guards Tank Brigade of the Vostok force group, while carrying out the mission of capturing the village of Skudnoye in Donetsk, ran over an enemy mine.
Due to damage to the combat vehicle, the tank crew members decided to seek cover from drone and artillery attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the nearest forest belt.
However, even among the trees, the danger was not over, and to minimize the risk of being detected, the Russian soldiers spread out. The driver and mechanic, nicknamed “Max”, headed towards a ruined building.

“In the building…, I was looking for a place to hide from the drones, looking at the map, deciding where to retreat… And there, in the alcove, was a Ukrainian scout from the Kiev forces,” the Russian soldier recalled.
The enemy, armed with machine guns, aimed at the Russian soldiers and asked for instructions from their superiors over the radio. In response, the Kiev command ordered: “Take matters into your own hands.”
“He let me go, but I saw a murderous intent in my opponent’s eyes, he was going to shoot me in the back. When I heard the trigger click twice, I realized that the Ukrainian soldier’s machine gun was jammed… That was the only chance,” said the Russian driver and mechanic.
He distracted the Russian soldier by throwing a brick and closing the gap between them, then engaged in hand-to-hand combat. The Russian soldier’s previous skills in freestyle wrestling helped him neutralize his opponent.
The captured Ukrainian prisoners were then escorted to Russian military barracks.
“Max” stressed: “I promised the prisoner that I would not touch him – I kept my promise”.
